We have developed the handheld portable device ‘COMBATOR,’ designed as an extinguisher containing F-500 Encapsulator agent, to combat battery fires immediately after they occur. The COMBATOR portable extinguishers come in two variants with different fire ratings: 6 litres and 9 litres capacity. For larger applications requiring higher fire ratings, the portable solution can be customised for capacities up to 50 litres. COMBATOR has proven to be highly effective and handy in and around areas of battery applications, enabling users to immediately extinguish battery fires in case of any incident.
Applications such as public, private, and semi-public charging stations, EV showrooms, garages, cell testing and storage areas, in-house battery appliances, etc., require an immediate response in case of any fire incident. Comprehensive testing was conducted on lithium-ion batteries for fire hazards at a test facility in IIT Gandhinagar, witnessed and approved by third-party agencies such as Bureau Veritas, IR Class, etc. This testing has proven the effectiveness of the Spherical Micelle Technology-based COMBATOR in extinguishing lithium-ion battery fires.
